Schönbrunn Palace Penguins Stage Midnight Escape for Ice Cream

Vienna was abuzz with excitement this morning after a group of penguins from Schoenbrunn Zoo staged a daring midnight escape to fulfill their ice cream cravings. The penguins, led by their ringleader, a particularly resourceful Humboldt named Klaus, managed to waddle their way out of their enclosure and into the nearby 24-hour Billa supermarket.

Security footage shows the penguins making a beeline for the frozen food section, where they spent several minutes examining different flavors before settling on vanilla and strawberry. The supermarket staff discovered the penguins enjoying their treats in aisle 3 and promptly alerted the zoo.

Zoo director Dr. Ingrid Fischer commented, “We always knew Klaus was intelligent, but this is beyond our expectations. We’ll be reviewing our security protocols, and perhaps offering more frequent ice cream treats to keep our penguins content.”
